Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili and Asaf Hajiyev, the Secretary General of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, on Friday discussed the “increasing significance” of the Middle Corridor, a logistics route connecting Central Asia and China to Europe via the South Caucasus.

The Parliament of Georgia said the parties also reviewed the agenda of the sitting of the General Assembly, scheduled to be hosted in Albania next month.

Papuashvili highlighted the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation was an “effective regional dialogue and cooperation platform”.

Hajiyev noted the Georgian delegation had played a “key role” in the activities of the PABSEC, and expressed his gratitude to the Georgian Parliament for hosting the 63rd sitting of the organisation’s Committee for Legal Affairs and International Cooperation, which is scheduled to take place this week.
